Edvard Munch's famous painting, "The Scream," sold at auction tonight for $119.9 million, breaking a record. The sale, at Sotheby's, makes "The Scream" the 8th most expensive painting (actually a pastel on board) sold at a private or public auction, when prices are adjusted for inflation.
