This right here is the biggest problem I see with a lot of fat loss programs. Those programs are great at helping you shake off those last few pounds, but, once you finish the diet you tend to put all of the weight back on because you never had a great maintenance plan in place.
Now intermittent fasting is just what the name implies. It is not a completely new concept, however, intermittent fasting has been touted to be the next largest fitness and fat loss topic in 2012. Why? Because it goes completely against normal wisdom with regards to weight loss and even adding muscle to your frame.
Many human beings are under the notion that you need to eat 5-6 times per day to keep your metabolism as high as possible and to keep blood sugar levels stable during the day. The issue with this thinking is that it is all “bro” science. This thinking and reasoning is simply not correct.
When someone eats five to six tiny meals each day, which is the opposite of fat loss forever, you are essentially causing a roller-coaster like effect in terms of your blood glucose levels. This is something you do not want to happen for the reason that it can lead you to becoming more hungry, craving junk food, and possibly insulin resistant over-time. Besides, who wants to think about eating 5-6 times per day anyways? That is a pain in the butt when you have to worry about cooking all of that food or packing a lot of containers to work with you every day.
